Balloon Wrangler

T. S. Eliot was right: April is the cruelest month. It poured rain all morning, threatening to cancel the Rossini Festival Italian Street Fair today. And let me tell you, that would be a really big disappointment to cancel a fair that stretched for five blocks, with more than 150 booths and three stages for music. But the rain let up in time to hoist the tricolor balloons - which, as our balloon wrangler's expression shows, is serious business. Oh, but the fair was such fun!

I am glad the event came off on schedule. Looks like a lot of wind bottled up in tri-colors.

I love home town fairs. They are a tremendous amount of fun. I'm glad the festivities weren't cancelled.

Looks like a nice time and love all the color of the balloons.

Is there a large Italian community in Knoxville? We have an Italian Heritage festival every fall here in Seattle. We got wet last year, too.

Your question about Mt. Rainier, the answer is yes, and no; Yes, behind clouds for sure, and No, not those clouds. Mt. Rainier would be to the right of this view, which is essentially looking east. Mt. Rainier is south of Seattle.
