Artifact

This is the only thing remaining from the old bus station that used to be on Gay Street. It was torn down decades ago. As I have acquired the habit of looking up, I only recently noticed that the demolition forgot a piece. The big gaping hole between buildings is now (wait for it...) a parking lot.

"They paved paradise and put up a parking lot!" Didn't the song say, you only know what you've got when it's gone?

I knew it. At least they left us a morsel.

A universal practise, tear it down for a car park. If aliens invaded they would think we worshipped the God car. The finest shots are those above and beyond never the ones with the blinkers on. B&w too spot on.

I bet the bus station was very roccoco. tear it down and put up a parking lot. Of course if you want people to come and shop or whatever they will want a place to park. Go figure. MB

This sounds like a city planner has got the best of the city council and somehow convinced them that there are so many people trying to get downtown to spend all their money that they need to demolish some buildings and make some new parking lots. DUH.

That sounds like politicians here too. We got three new parking lots where buildings once stood.

I'm learning to look up more. You get some great photos that way!

With regard to my photo shopped photo all I did was sharpen up the Abbey and enhance the colours. Nothing major, I just wanted to play with my new toy!
