Well, the weather forcasters didn't lie. We had cold temperatures and snow flurries - you might see a little snow action in the glow of the streetlight. But the snow only dusted the tops of roofs and cars. This is what is charmingly known around these parts as "dogwood winter."

I like the term Dogwood Winter. Sounds quite nice really.
We call it "Blackberry Winter" because the blackberries have bloomed and they need a little cool snap.
Never heard of a Dogwood Winter. Here in B'ham we call it this....%$%&@$^* !
My macho fern has been sleeping in my foyer for two nights. It better not start shedding!

and for what it's worth, Grandmother always called the cold weather after the dogwoods bloomed the winter...so I called this one Redbud Winter...
