Office Hours

On a nocturnal stroll by the Crystal Building around 10 p.m., I noticed the lights were on in a few windows. I hoped it was the night cleaning crew, and not some poor souls who had to work extra late. At any rate, it struck me as an awfully lonely scene, so I shot it in black and white.
Do you ever have to work late at your job?

Excellent idea and realization, full of feeling and atmosphere. Good work.

My brain stops functioning after about 10 hours of this stuff so I don't stay very late. I come in on weekends. Or I tell people I'm working on weekends when I'm actually editing photos when no one is around. But to tell the truth, I also edit photos when everyone is around. One of the privileges of being the boss.

I just retired in May so this is my work and I do it when I want to. I "worked" at it till 12:15 last night. What? am I crazy???
I do like this photograph very much. S.T. above me said it very well. I'll let him do the talking.

They make me think of a Hemingway story--"A Clean Well Lighted Place." Well done!

I just wanted to drop in and say hello. I lived in Knoxville from 2001-2007 on the West Side off of Cedar Bluff. My ex used to teach NJROTC at West High. Looking at your blog brings back some memories. I am book marking you and will be by again soon.

Kind of a haunted look, your photo. Very subtle.

I hope it is the cleaning crew too, or maybe someone who really wants the overtime.
I never mind working late if I am working on something fun.

One of the good thing about living in NYC is that whenever you have to work late (or you haven seen time flying by), you can just look outside at the other skyscrapers where you realize you are not alone and there are many people in your case.
