Spiral Steps
These spiral steps lead to side entrances of the YWCA downtown. The building was built in the 1920s, and they just don't make stairs curve quite like these anymore.
It is lovely to see something that isn't all squared and severe on a building, and this being meant for direct human use makes it that much more a touch of gentleness.
This is what I mean about using your instinct. It's a fabulous image. The curves and lines eading though it are great. Try desaturaing it as a b&w, this would be stunning.

I love these old stairways. So much more interesting than the modern straight staircases!
Very pretty, and I like curves more than squares for some reason. More pleasing to my eye.
