Prometheus Bound

I watched the dismantling of the sculpture show in Krutch Park over the weekend. All kinds of trucks with flatbeds, cranes, and pulleys arrived to winch up the sculptures and haul them away.  But I liked this one the best: the big orange "O", which turned out to be one of the most popular sculptures in the show, kept it simple. For a mere $19.95, you could roll it into a U-Haul, strap it down, and drive it away.

What, no Big Orange UT fan bought that one? I can see it hanging over the mantle right now.:)

Virginia - it was missing the V, L, and S, that's why. *snork*

LOL! You're right about that! Are you a big Vol fan? I'm Auburn so if it had been a giant A I might have rented me a truck and come on up.

The future bright the future's orange. It remind me of that advert we get here. Smartypants title. Beware of Greeks bearing gifts remember.

First, I thought about you Sunday with that shooting. Good grief. Such sorrow. . . . .

Nice shot today.

Sorry to cut-and-paste this, but I wanted to let you know I visited today. Being away from home while at school for 10 days has put me way behind here, and trying to catch up here has put me way behind on what is already coming due for school, and it's a vicious circle some days. :-)

Great shot of a strange visual idea - U-Haul turned into O-Haul. I imagine that it would take much more than the $19.95 for the truck to get the rights to this thing. Was it meant to be in UT's main color?

I can see why everyone loved 'Big O' it's round and orange and uncomplicated. One can understand it. MB

Virginia - I'm not really a Vol fan *said in a stage whisper*

Abe - this would look great in your garden; the birds would love it :-)

B - thanks for that classic reminder

Chris - thanks for your good thoughts; we're still trying to wrap our minds around the whole thing

ST & MB - I don't know if the Vol Orange was intentional, but it probably helped. It was also interactive art - that is, people loved to pose on it and have their photos taken.

Jim - didn't mean to forget you! Would this coordinate with your decor?
