Glowing Somewhere

Not really clouds, but a contrail that has reflected some sunset glow in a clear winter sky.
There's lots more at Sky Watch.

Looks like the clouds are adopting the contrail as its own. Pretty colors.

Silhouettes, splash of colour, space , love it. The sunset really has tripped the light fantastic on that contrail.

Great color! What's a contrail, if you don't mind my asking?

Cool colours. I like the way the sun reflects like this.

Saretta, it's "condensation trail" shortened to contrail. The exhaust of jets at high altitudes emits particles, just like car exhaust or smoke, but up high the air is so cold that water vapor condenses onto the particles as cloud droplets. Some people are frightened to death of these things, imagining them to be highly toxic. I'm skeptical.

But anyway, beautiful dark silhouette against those colors, KG!
