Hood Ornament

It's another last minute Sky Watch Friday. At the antique car show last Sunday, I noticed the shiny reflective hood (bonnet for my UK visitors) of this 50s Ford raised up so we could admire the mighty engine inside. While others were doing just that, I was admiring the reflection of the sun behind clouds, and the Tennessee Theater marquee. But the hood was so big, I couldn't fit it all in the photo.

What an unusual photo -- very creative...

And yeah, I'm sure you were the only person there that could see past the engine and into the sky...

Very clever photo. And here's a bit of on-topic automotive trivia: The largest single piece of sheet metal to ever come out of Detroit (on a production automobile) was the hood of a 1976 Cadillac Coupe DeVille.

It may be last minute but I like it!

Less is more! It's great you couldn't get all of it in the frame as you've created a very unusual shot this way
instead. The perspective and the angle is terrific. Thanks for the bonnet ref. Why we called it after babies headwear is beyond me!

I'm back ...
Oh no, cried blog world ... he's back!

But guess what, I'm glad I decided to make a comeback.
If I didn´t rejoin SWF I would never have the chance to see this great photo!

Great shot. This is much more interesting than the car's engine anyway. I never know what I'm looking at anyway.

Oh! That took some visual decoding, but I finally got it. I should have read the caption first. Very cool idea!
